IPL 6: KXIP vs MI- A Statistical Preview
With KXIP out of the contention for a play-off spot, the result of today’s encounter between KXIP and MI at HPCA Stadium, Dharamshala won’t be too significant for any of the sides. However, MI will be looking to finish top on the points table with a win today, while KXIP will look to end their IPL campaign this year on a high. KXIP are currently holding the 6th spot on the points table. On the other hand, MI are the present table toppers.
1) Head-to-head combining all the seasons: The win/loss ratio is slightly skewed in KXIP’s favour, who won 6 out of the 11 games played between the two teams so far. MI won 5 out of them.
2) Head-to-head in the 2012 season: It was even-stevens in the last season, with the both the teams winning a game each.
3) Shaun Marsh has scored the highest runs among all the KXIP batsmen against MI combining all the seasons so far. Marsh has scored 337 runs in the 7 innings that he played against MI.
4) KXIP skipper Adam Gilchrist is the most successful wicket-keeper in the IPL. The Australian southpaw has effected 69 dismissals in the 79 matches he has played so far.
5) Kings XI’s lowest total in IPL is 87, which coincidentally came against MI.
6) Whats next in store for the teams: It will be the last match for KXIP in this IPL, as they are now out of the reckoning for play-offs.
Meanwhile, MI will fly to Delhi to play the first qualifier against CSK on May 21st.
