IPL 6: Match 16 - CSK vs RCB - A statistical preview
The Chennai Super Kings clearly has an edge when it comes with the head-to-head record against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. CSK have 7-4 win-loss record against RCB from 12 matches in total (one of which was abandoned by poor weather). CSK have lost only one of their five home matches.
In 2012, CSK won a thriller at home off the very last ball thanks to exploits of Albie Morkel, while the match in garden city, Bangalore, had to be abandoned after the toss as rain played spoilsport.
In the twelve matches between the two teams, 3750 runs have been scored and 150 wickets have fallen, that’s an IPL record for the most runs and wickets involving any two teams.
Only seven runs split Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli in the IPL top run-getters chart so far. The Orange cap is in the custody of Kohli with 198 runs.
The top two six-hitters in the IPL, Chris Gayle and Suresh Raina will go head-to-head. The former tops the list with 143 sixes, while Raina comes a distant second with 97 sixes.
No bowler in the IPL has dismissed RCB’s mercurial Jamaican Chris Gayle more often than CSK’s R Ashwin. The CSK off-spinner has had the measure of Gayle, dismissing him on three occasions for lowly scores of 0, 7 & 8.
What’s next in store for the teams: The Chennai Super Kings will remain at home for their next fixture against Pune Warriors India on April 15.
Meanwhile RCB will host the Delhi Daredevils the following day.
