IPL 6: Match 2 - RCB vs MI - Statistical Preview

 

In four matches that have been played at the  Chinnaswamy Stadium, the Royal Challengers have never beaten Mumbai Indians at home in the IPL.


In the 10 IPL matches played between the two sides so far Mumbai Indian lead 6-4 in terms of wins over Royal Challengers.


In the last five meetings between the two sides RCB leads the head-to-head 3-2 over MI.


Lasith Malinga is one of few bowlers who has managed to keep mercurial Jamaican, Chris Gayle, quiet in the IPL. Malinga has delivered 39 balls to Gayle in the IPL while conceding mere 36 runs that has included only five fours.


There have been a total of 122 sixes hit in the matches between RCB and MI


Gayle has opportunity to go past David Hussey’s tally of 4821 as he is only trails the Aussie by 17 runs. When he eventually does, Gayle will become the second-highest run-getter in all T20 cricket. Aussie veteran Brad Hodge leads the list with 5274.


2012 head-to-head: Gayle (82 off 59) was the engineer of a huge win at the Wankhede Stadium, as Royal Challengers slaughtered Mumbai Indians last season by nine wickets. Mumbai then avenged their hammering, as Ambati Rayudu (81 off 54) guided them to victory in an evenly contested battle at the Chinnaswamy Stadium five days later.
