IPL 6: Match 3 - SH vs PWI - Statistical Preview

Both the Sunrisers and the Warriors come into this contest with a poor record of only four wins in their 16 matches last season.

The Warriors did not have a single bowler in the top-20 wicket-takers last season. Ashish Nehra, now plying his trade with the Delhi Daredevils, took 11 wickets for them and placed 26th.

Meanwhile their leading run-scorer, Robin Uthappa, was 12th with 405 runs.

The third-wicket partnership between Cameroon White and Kumar Sangakkara of 157 runs is the highest in IPL history and it incidentally came against the Warriors.

Pune Warriors’ 25 % win percentage against SH is dismal, interestingly though Sunrisers have never defeated Pune Warriors at Hyderabad. Their only previous meeting was in 2011, which the Warriors won by 6 wickets

2012 head-to-head: In both games last season the Sunrisers defeated the Warriors home and away, in the corresponding fixture last year, for obvious reasons played at Cuttack and not Hyderabad, Sunrisers won by 13 runs.

While back home in Pune as well, the Warriors ended up on losing side as they were defeated by 18 runs.

What’s next in store for teams: Both the teams won’t have much time to get their act together as their next fixture is on Sunday as PWI takes on KXIP and later in the evening SH is up against the might of Gayle co. in the form of RCB.
