IPL 6: Rahane stresses on the importance match against CSK

Rajasthan Royals have been consistent performers in this season’s IPL. They have performed admirably in this season’s IPL. They have exploited the home conditions and ensured their spot in the play-offs. Rahul Dravid has led from the front and as a captain he has made some interesting changes. Rahul Dravid has also used Shane Watson effectively in stiff run-chases.

Rahane has been the stand-out performer for Rajasthan Royals in the last three matches. He has batted beautifully together with Dravid. His shot selection was accurate in the last couple of matches. He also stressed on the importance of their next match against the Chennai Super Kings. The next match against the Super Kings will certainly be a challenging one for Dravid. Chennai Super Kings have also been consistent performers in IPL and at the moment they look invincible.

“The next one’s against Chennai Super Kings and its a big game for us,” he said. “We’re not thinking about the playoffs really. What is important is we’re playing as a team and everyone’s responding. We are just taking it one game at a time.”

He didn’t stop there. He also talked about his knocks in the last couple of matches, “There will always be ups and downs in the game. Selection isn’t in my hands, so I’ve never focused on it. I want to enjoy my game and give it my 100%. As long as you stay humble and look to improve, nothing matters. That is what I’m looking to do. I haven’t done anything different. I’m enjoying my game and that is reflecting in my batting.”

Dravid has been the guiding force for Rahane. “Dravid backs everyone, not just the eleven guys on the field but the rest of them off the field as well,” said Rahane. “It is a wonderful experience batting alongside him. I’m looking to improve. I always talk to him about my batting and how to improve my game and I’m really enjoying my cricket at the moment.”
