IPL 6 spot-fixing: Delhi Police special commissioner denies visiting Unmukt Chand's house
S N Srivastava, special commissioner, Special Cell of the Delhi Police, has denied that a team of Special Cell visited Unmukt Chand‘s house for questioning.
Earlier, the former junior India captain Unmukt Chand, who plays for Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League, was said to be under the scanner of Delhi Police in the spot-fixing issue. According to a police source, a team from the Special Cell had met the family of Unmukt Chand but however, his family members had told them that “Unmukt did not come home for two days.”
When asked in this regard, S N Srivastava said, “I am not aware about it”. He also said that six bookies were arrested by the Goa Police after the Delhi Police had come to know that some bookies were hiding in Goa.
“During the course of investigation we got to know about the six bookies who were hiding in Goa. We shared the information with Goa police following which they were arrested. They could reveal the name of several other players,” said S N Srivastava.
