IPL 6: SRH vs KKR: Flops of the Day
The Sunrisers Hyderabad booked their spot in the playoffs at the expense of RCB after Darren Sammy hammered the last two deliveries of the match from Iqbal Abdulla into the stands.
Here are the Flops of the Day:
Gautam Gambhir
The KKR captain looked to be a shadow of his usual self as he trundled around at the crease. Seemingly in Test match mode, he poked around for singles and twos as he sleepwalked his way to a miserly 10 runs before he was run out, yet again. Cutting the ball to point, he started running like a madman, only realising halfway that Kallis wasn’t the slightest bit interested in the run. He could only watch as Samantray’s throw landed into the hands of Patel who didn’t hesitate to whip the bails off.
Hanuma Vihari
The young batsman started off the season quite strongly but his form seems to have fizzled out. Vihari has not been playing well for a while now. His vigil at the crease was a disastrous one for his team as he scored just 6 runs and saw his captain lose his wicket. His miserable stay ended as he swiped at a ball from Abdulla and found the ball ballooning up and then landing into the hands of Dogra.
Jacques Kallis
The South African seemed to have pressed the pause button while batting, hitting only 2 fours in his 29-ball 24. Not only was he slow but he didn’t really help his side’s cause as the rest of the team stalled around him. When he bowled the 8th over, Dhawan hammered 13 runs off his only over.
