IPL 6: SRH vs KKR - Hits of the match

The Sunrisers Hyderabad flew into the IPL playoffs on the wings of 2 big sixes off the blade of Darren Sammy. The win saw them clinch the final playoff spot at the expense of Virat Kolhi’s RCB. Here are the hits of the match:

Darren Sammy

‘The Pacifier’ had his work cut out after facing down a hostile maiden over from Narine. With the fans screaming for blood after the Sunrisers seemingly lost their heads, Sammy sent them screaming into delirious celebrations when he hammered the 4th and 5th ball from Iqbal Abdulla’s final over into their waiting hands. The crowds and his team-mates erupted as the Calypso captain soaked it in. Just shows you why he’s the captain of the World T20 champions.

Parthiv Patel

The little fighter hammered seven shots at the ropes and even managed to outpace his destructive opening partner – Shikhar Dhawan. He took apart Sangwan, who was bowling quite a few looseners , hammering him to the ropes three times. When he left the pitch, he had ensured his team could easily coast to victory.

Dale Steyn

‘Mr. Crazy Eyes’ – the best quick bowler in the world – showed us why he earned that tag. His hostile pace ensured that Kolkata’s batsmen did not enjoy their stay at the wicket when he was around. He made the opposition play as if they were cats on a hot tin roof. He showed no mercy, not even for his fellow countryman Jacques Kallis, who he ensnared with a ball that was on express duties, as the edge landed in the hands of the fielder at the fence. He then tenderised Ryan Ten Doeschate with the last ball of that over- a bouncer into the body. The very next ball ‘Tendo’ failed to read a googly from Mishra and found himself walking back to the dugout, still trying to clear his head from the pain.
