IPL 6 Stats: Approaching milestones ahead of this season's IPL

1. Mahendra Singh Dhoni needs to win four more matches to complete an incredible feat of winning 50 matches as captain in the IPL. At present, he has won 46 out of the 78 matches he has captained for CSK.

2. Chris Gayle, the mercurial Jamaican, has to his name 349 sixes and needs just one more for his 350th six. If and when he gets there, he would become the first batsman in the history of T20 games to score 350 sixes.

3. David Hussey needs two more matches to reach his 200th T20 match. If he plays in two more games, he would become the second cricketer to appear in 200 T20 matches in the format’s history. CSK’s Albie Morkel heads the list with 215 T20 matches.

4. Suresh Raina needs six more sixes to reach the landmark of 150 sixes. If he gets them, he would become the first Indian batsman to score 150 sixes in T20 cricket.

5. Some good news for defending Champions KKR, as Jacques Kallis and Gautam Gambhir both occupy the record for most fifties in the IPL, i.e., 16 fifties each. They will rival each other in the forthcoming IPL to grab the number one spot.

6. Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina share the record for most catches in the IPL. Both the players have grabbed 42 catches each so far, and hence both India internationals will be vying for the coveted first place.

7. Lasith Malinga is second on the list of bowlers who have taken four-wicket hauls in T20 cricket. The pack is headed by death-over specialist Umar Gul of Pakistan; he has to his name 10 four-wicket hauls, while Malinga has 9 four-wicket hauls.

8. Alfonso Thomas and Dirk Nannes have 211 and 210 wickets, respectively, in T20 games. They are first and second place, respectively amongst the bowlers who have captured most wickets in T20 games. Both will be eager to established themselves as highest wicket takers in T20 cricket during this tournament.

9. Kieron Pollard has taken 91 catches and needs nine more catches for his 100th catch. If he gets them, he would then become the second fielder in the history of T20 games to pouch 100 plus catches after David Hussey, who has 108 catches to his name.

10. Chris Gayle has scored 33 half centuries to his name and trails Aussie batsman Brad Hodge by only three. If he gets it, he would have to his name the most number of half centuries in history of T20 cricket!
