IPL 6: Updated points table - 30th April
Yesterday was a blockbuster Monday in IPL as it was a double-header featuring four very good teams who played thrilling cricket and gave us two very good matches. The first game of the day saw RCB up against RR who have made Jaipur their fortress and it was a clinical performance from Rahul Dravid’s men as they defeated RCB by 4 wickets. Moving on to the second game of the night, Mumbai would feel fortunate to win, as the win was more due to the inexperience of Kings XI Punjab’s young batsmen than good bowling by Mumbai’s bowlers. Any experienced batting line up would have crushed Mumbai Indians yesterday and how Punjab would be ruing the fact that they let Mumbai win two very important points which might come back to haunt them at the end of season.
Talking about today’s matches, there is only one match scheduled today when Pune Warriors India will host the joint table toppers Chennai Super Kings. The result of this match won’t have much consequences on the table itself. Pune this season have been unfortunate so far to find themselves at the bottom as they could have easily had about five/six wins in the tournament so far. On their day, they can upset any team as they had already done with Chennai earlier in the season. It remains to be seen whether that result was just a flash in the pan or can they defeat them again?
Here’s the IPL points table as of 29/4/2013:
