IPL 2014: Why Chris Gayle is not playing today against Delhi Daredevils

West Indies all-rounder and power hitter Chris Gayle is not playing today’s match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Daredevils due to a back injury that he suffered during practice sessions.

Gayle is expected to play RCB’s next match against Mumbai Indians on April 19th, 2014. Chris Gayle was the winner of the Orange Cap, for being the top scorer in the IPL, in 2011 and 2012.

Chris Gayle was retained by the Vijay Mallya owned franchise for the seventh edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
