IPL Fantasy 2018, KXIP vs KKR & DD vs RCB: 4 tips to help you earn big today
As we gear up for another double-header weekend, there is plenty of scope to fetch loads of points, and in return, give ourselves the best chance of winning some top prizes in the fantasy.
The likes of Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Chris Gayle and Chris Lynn are all in action today. Safe to say that entertainment is guaranteed. Here are some suggestions for your fantasy team:
Managing the big names
In the previous encounter between Kings XI Punjab and Kolkata Knight Riders, we saw Chris Gayle and KL Rahul brush aside the target in a rain-marred encounter. These are two batsmen who have been in form, and more importantly, KXIP rely on them heavily. It's very important to not only make room for these two but there are a few big names in the KKR camp as well. Managing your resources is very important.
The likes of Andre Russell and Sunil Narine can have a major impact at this venue. And not to forget someone like Dinesh Karthik or even Robin Uthappa who can be destructive on his day.
Ideally, considering Russell hasn't done a great deal of late, I would take a punt and leave him out but with Narine, you just have to back him. The surface at Indore has shown us that spin can play a vital role and the game being played at 4 PM, the chances of the surface playing slow are even higher.
In that case, his bowling will come in handy and as a batsman, he will enjoy playing against a side that doesn't have seamers who are extremely pacy.
Can Lynn cut it?
It's quite a curious question! On his day, he can demolish attacks. He has shown signs of it but hasn't been at his best this season but at the same time, Indore is a ground known for its sixes. The boundaries are short so even if Lynn mistimes a few, there are chances that the ball will sail over the boundary.
At the same time, there is the threat of Ravichandran Ashwin and Mujeeb Rahman to contend with. If the surface continues to play slow, Lynn will find it extremely hard to maneuver the spinners and eventually fall short of expectations.
So it's a tricky call but one you can take in order to gamble but fill up your other vital slots first and take him only if you can afford the price later on.
A game full of runs
This game is in Delhi later tonight between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Daredevils is destined to be full of runs. It's not hard to figure out why.
We saw how Rishabh Pant batted the other night and we also saw how Kane Williamson and Shikhar Dhawan undid Pant's good work, making the target appear easy. Pant is back again and this time, DD will be facing a relatively easier attack compared to SRH.
So that brings in the likes of Shreyas Iyer and Prithvi Shaw into the equation. If Jason Roy gets another go, then he is going to be dangerous as well.
And on the other side, needless to say, there is Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. And with this contest being a must-win for RCB, expect these two superstars to give their best to salvage their side's campaign. And if that indeed happens, you will have a field day in fantasy.
The makeup of the bowling attack
If the game is indeed full of runs, then who are your bowlers? It's very hard to pick bowlers for such clashes where you anticipate big runs to be scored but you have to fill the minimum quota of bowlers for your fantasy team.
My pick would be the two legspinners Amit Mishra and Yuzvendra Chahal because much like Indore, Delhi has also shown a tendency to assist spin at times this season so I will go in with these two options.
It's safe and these are bowlers who can also fetch wickets. Among the seamers, I would pick Trent Boult purely based on the fact that he knows how to bowl at the Kotla.
