IPL Fantasy 2018, RR vs KXIP: 4 tips to come out on top

It is finally time to drop D'Arcy
It is finally time to drop D'Arcy

It's now or never for Rajasthan Royals and in their final bid to revive a floundering campaign, they take on Kings XI Punjab yet again for the second time in three days. Can they come out on top this time? Well, we are not sure about that but here are some suggestions to ensure you come out on top in the fantasy.

1. No more D'Arcy

He was expected to light up the IPL but unfortunately, D'Arcy Short has failed to match his expectations by a long shot in his debut season in the most competitive T20 league in the world.

D'Arcy was easily removed in the very first over of the game against the same opposition and with the side fielding three spinners now on a regular basis, he will find the going tough if he gets another game.

RR do not have a lot of overseas options but they might be tempted to bring back Klaasen with D'Arcy continuing to disappoint. So you don't repeat the same mistake that RR did by continuing to back D'Arcy. Time to give him the chop and see what RR do going forward.

2. Buttler - IN, Stokes - OUT

Jos Buttler was nothing short of disappointing so far in the IPL so there was a case to ignore him in the fantasy. But surely, after what he has done in the last two games, we just have to back him to deliver.

Remember, once Buttler gets going, there are very few men out there who can actually stop him. Buttler on song is a sight to behold. He has been magnificent in the last two games where he was asked to open, something a lot of experts had advised RR to do much earlier.

He likes it when the ball is hard and was seen making full use of the fielding restrictions. So I would recommend you to never miss an RR game from now on without Buttler.

Regarding Ben Stokes, nothing changes now! The man continues to put on a flop show and he is going to cost you a lot to even consider taking a gamble. Unfortunately, it's better to wait until he comes out of this bad patch totally.

3. Stoinis the key

Everyone's going to recommend picking Chris Gayle and KL Rahul. I'm no different. With the kind of form these batsmen have been in, you just have to play both together in the same XI. Taking a chance can cost you big time as both have the capacity to take on a bowling attack single-handedly on their day.

Most of the users will continue to back these two but you need something extra to stand out from the rest for this game. So, who is going to be your third top pick from KXIP? I can only think of one man right now and that's Marcus Stoinis.

Yes, the Australian all-rounder hasn't set the tournament on fire but he is very handful. On this Jaipur surface, Stoinis can be trusted with the ball and if he can finally deliver with the bat, then you are going to score heavily.

4. Lessons to be learned

With the previous game between these two sides just getting over two days back, there are certain things to be noted before picking your team. Uncertainty over spot and form should leave Rahane deserted unless you really back him to succeed.

The same applies for someone like Rahul Tripathi as well with the batsman batting too late to have an impact. On the bowling front, Mujeeb is the key yet again as he showcased the other night. So cover your basics, choose the ones who impressed you when these two sides met recently and then work your way around it in order to make a difference.
