IPL Fantasy cricket, DD vs KXIP: 4 key pointers to remember

Gayle has been in red-hot form.

What a thriller we had yesterday to round off Super Sunday!! The action now shifts to Delhi, a venue that could be full of runs, which means, a venue that could be full of points in fantasy. Here are some pointers to remember while picking your side tonight:

As Gautam Gambhir locks horns with Ravichandran Ashwin, you get a chance to play your own game of fantasy - StarPick is the new one on the block, and it has a lot of exciting features along with millions in prize money. You can create your StarPick team here.

The trio you cannot ignore

This is Delhi's first game at home, so we are not sure about how the pitch is going to behave. We still don't expect it to be bowling friendly considering DD have packed their side with big-hitters. And considering Delhi's ground is quite smaller in size, boundaries can probably just flow non-stop.

In that scenario, there are three names that you just cannot afford to miss out. Chris Gayle, KL Rahul, and Rishabh Pant. We are talking about three of the top six run-getters this season so far. All three have in phenomenal hitting form and the veteran Gayle, in particular, has just shocked everybody.

After scoring a calculated hundred against Sunrisers Hyderabad the other night, Gayle followed it up with another unbeaten half-century against Kolkata Knight Riders. The fact that he has been dismissed just once in this tournament makes him a dangerous commodity to ignore. He is not past his best. He is batting like someone who has a point to prove.

And then there is Rahul who is reinventing himself in the T20 format playing with terrific freedom. Not to forget that he made the fastest IPL fifty earlier in the season against the same team. Pant simply has been DD's best batsman so far so he makes the cut purely on that basis. It's his home ground as well.

Consider Gauti

He is always underrated in T20 cricket. These shorter boundaries can actually help Gambhir score big as well against an attack that largely bears a local look. To top it, not only is he playing at home, he will be playing against the team he scored a fifty earlier in the season.

Gambhir will also be vital in tackling Ashwin and Mujeeb, so he might look to play just bat through with the stroke-makers around him looking to make merry.

Say NO to Morris

We all relied on Morris to deliver, didn't we? The all-rounder has always done a pretty good job in the IPL whenever he has played but for some reason, he has been way below his best in this year's IPL.

He was even dropped once and I won't be surprised if he gets the axe soon at this rate. Morris has not only been struggling with the bat but he has been erratic with the ball as well.

I expected Morris to be DD's lynchpin in the bowling department but sadly, the wickets aren't coming. Morris will also cost big so to keep relying on him doesn't look like a good idea. It will be interesting to see if Daniel Chrisitan makes the cut tonight but don't take a punt already.

Look for safer options and wait to see if DD indeed take the big call going ahead.

Tye could be quite handful

He has picked seven wickets so far in five games but it's the last two games where he has slowly started to impress. Stocking your side with bowlers isn't a good idea especially at the Kotla but you still need to fill in the minimum quota.

In that case, Tye is someone you cannot afford to ignore. Tye could still leak runs at this venue but if this game pans out to be a high-scoring one especially with KXIP batting first and posting a big score then Tye will fancy his chances during the chase.

DD's batting unit lacks in confidence and might try to just go after every ball which will play to Tye's advantage especially with his frequent usage of the knuckle-ball.
