IPL history: Kochi Tuskers Kerala squad - Where are they now?
Kochi Tuskers Kerala (KTK) played its only Indian Premier League season in the year 2011. Kochi, along with Pune Warriors India had joined the 8 city-based franchises after the first three seasons of the Indian Premier League received immense success.
Kochi Cricket Private Limited, which was a group of multiple companies, owned this franchise which made the headlines for various controversies. The BCCI terminated the Kochi franchise, 3 months after their debut season for breaching the terms of contract.

There were talks of the Kochi franchise returning to the IPL in 2016 however, the legal battle between BCCI and Kochi Tuskers Kerala owners has not ended yet.

#1 Mahela Jayawardene
Mahela Jayawardene was the skipper of the Kochi Tuskers Kerala in IPL 2011. The Sri Lankan legend led the Kochi franchise in 13 matches before he had to leave for national duty ahead of the team's last league match against Chennai Super Kings.
Jayawardene scored 299 runs for the Kochi team, which included 3 half-centuries. The KTK captain had a highest score of 76 that season. He had a poor average of 23 with the bat.
The Sri Lankan legend then moved to the Delhi Daredevils next season after the disbandment of the Kochi franchise. Currently, Jayawardene is a part of the coaching staff of Mumbai Indians.
