IPL 2016 Full coverage

The 27th match of the VIVO IPL 2016 will see a battle of the bottom half as fifth-placed Sunrisers Hyderabad host seventh-placed Royal Challengers Bangalore. The hosts were on a good run, after having won their third, fourth and fifth games on the trot but suffered a steback in the last match where they were let down by some poor batting as Pune strolled to a comfortable victory via the DLS method. The visitors Bangalore have so far batted first in all of their five matches, with them scoring totals of 170 plus on all occasions. While that shows the strength of their batting, the fact that they were successfully able to defend their scores only twice, reflects a poor support from the bowling front. In the same fixture at Bangalore, Kohli’s men outclasses Sunrisers in all departments to pick up an easy 45-run win in their first match. While Bangalore would look for something similar this time around, Hyderabad will be out for revenge in front of their home fans. Catch live scoreboard and commentary with us here for today’s IPL match between Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Captain David Warner got out for a duck against Pune, and his failure that resulted in such a poor outcome, showcases Hyderabad’s over-dependance on the Aussie southpaw. While fellow southpaw opener Shikhar Dhawan has been amongst the runs of late, his 56 off 53 balls in the last match is not the ideal rate to go about in a game where he was fast runing out of partners. The middle order that comprised of England captain Eoin Morgan and all-rounders Deepak Hooda and Moises Henriques, could manage a total of just two runs between them, while having eaten up fifteen balls. Aditya Tare was also a no-show in his 14-ball-8. Hyderabad’s batting core definitely have to pull up their socks as they are up against arguably the best batting line-up in the IPL. Keeper Naman Ojha has a reputation for being a hard-hitter, but he has done nothing of late to enhance the fact. He will also ahve to fire and add some crucial runs. Mustafizur Rahman, one of the most economical bowlers in the IPL so far will spearhead the pace attack with Bhuvneshwar Kumar who was also pretty economical last time out and Ashish Nehra who would want to increase his rate of taking wickets. Leggie Karn Sharma could replace left-arm spinner Bipul Sharma whose only over against Pune yielded 17 runs.

Bangalore will be boosted by the return of Chris Gayle who will replace Kane Williamson and partner current orange cap holder Virat Kohli, who has not missed out on punishing bowlers in all of his innings so far and after scoring his first IPL century in the previous match against Gujarat, will be gunning for something similar, hoping that this time it comes in a winning cause. Proteas heavyweight batsman AB de Villiers would want to cause his usual carnage, taking the bowlers to task. Keeper Lokesh Rahul made a fine 35-ball-51 against The Lions and if Aussie all-rounder Shane Watson also clicks with the bat, there are hardly any bowlers in the world who can do anything about it. Watson has to be more economical than his rate of 8.86 last time out and as of yet is still to justify the most expensive pricetag in this year’s IPL. Sarfaraz Khan did not have a bat in the last match, but he has shown that he can easily anchor the middle-order while getting quick runs. All-rounder Stuart Binny was a mere fielder against Gujarat and will want to perform in both the departmennts. While spinner Iqbal Abdulla had an alarming economy of 10.25 without a wicket in the last match, South African revelation Tabraiz Shamsi had amazing figures of 4-0-21-1 under the given circumstances. On a pitch that assists fast bowlers, Kohli would want to bring in seamer Harshal Patel and pacer Varun Aaron instead of Kedhar Jadhav and Yuzvendra Chahal.
