Gujarat Lions off to a wobbly start
David Warner won the toss and asked Gujarat to bat first. Out of the fourteen matches played so far in IPL, the teams chasing second won thirteen games. Therefore, it was evident for David Warner.
Aaron Finch was the man in form for GL and he was crucial for a good start. That did not happen; Gujarat Lions had a disastrous first over. They lost Aaron Finch for a duck. Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled a beauty to dismiss Aaron Finch. Suresh Rania came to bat in the first over and took charge right from the start. Brendon McCullum struggled and gave his wicket away while trying to smash one out of the park.

Gujarat Lions crumble
Wickets fell at regular intervals but the captain Suresh Raina held his ground. He made a brilliant fifty and propelled himself to the top-10 run-scorers of IPL. Raina was pushing at one end but none managed to stick with the captain. GL lost Bravo in fourteenth over and lost Jadeja in the seventeenth over. That was the final nail in the coffin for the Lions. Faulkner did not play today’s game. They desperately needed that extra batsman today. Nothing to take away from Sunrisers Hyderabad. They were a terrific bowling unit in the middle overs.
This has been a fine display of bowling by @SunRisers tonight. Taking wickets at regular intervals. We need a big finish! #GLvSRH

Bhuvneshwar Kumar finishes it off
Gujarat Lions looked like achieving 160 at one stage but that was not the case. Thanks to Mustafizur Rahman and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. SRH’s youngsters played a key role as well. Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up Suresh Raina in the last over. He was not the only victim for Kumar. He dismissed Akshdeep Nath and Dale Steyn too. Kumar finished the game with his IPL 2016’s best bowling figures at 4/29. He picked up the Purple cap. He leads the wicket-takers chart with seven wickets alongside Mitchell McClenaghan. Gujarat Lions finish the innings with only 135 runs on the board.
David Warner gets off to a flyer
David Warner was on song today as well. He led Sunrisers Hyderabad front. With a target of 136, Warner never held back. Dale Steyn did not have a great comeback for Warner went after him right from the first over. Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 50 runs in just 4.2 overs. They finished the power play with 63 runs on the board. Shikar Dhawan finally found his touch once again.
More David Warner
Precisely, it was more David Warner for Sunrisers Hyderabad. He scored an unbeaten 74 out of 48 balls. Shikhar Dhawan played beautifully today. He held his ground and made a brilliant fifty. SRH fans would be pleased that Shikhar Dhawan finally put some runs on the board.
Sunrisers Hyderabad never decelerated for they put 100 runs on the board in just 11 overs. SRH reached the target in 14.5 overs without losing a single wicket. A dominant performance by Warner and his boys. This win makes it two in a row for SRH. GL tasted their first defeat in IPL 2016. They will look to bounce back strong in their next game against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
SRH win by 10 wickets with 31 balls to spare.
