RCB v/s RPS, Bangalore
Two teams desperate for wins Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rising Pune Supergiants took on each other in the 35th match of the IPL. Supergiants entered the match after a crucial win over Delhi Daredevils whereas Challengers lost their last match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Both team to start winning continuously from here to have any chance to make it to the playoffs.
Royal Challengers won the toss and elected to field first.

RPS off to a blazing start aided by sloppy RCB
Ajinkya Rahane and Usman Khawaja started well with 22 overs in te first 2 overs. A confusion between the two batsmen led to the run out of Khawaja. Saurabh Tiwary then joined Rahane and both built a solid partnership and took the score to 60/1 at the end of the powerplay. RCB were hugely disappointing in the field. They dropped a number of catches and misfields assisted the RPS build the score.
Rahane and Tiwari brought up a century partnership
Both batsmen looked at ease and shared a 106 runs stand. Rahane continued on his merry way and notched up his second fifty in the tournament. Tiwary also extended his good form and reached his second fifty in 4 innings. They kept rotating the strike and hit the gaps and collected valuable boundaries. It was all the making of yet another high scoring game at Bangalore.
Dhoni departed early as RPS set a target of 192
Rahane and Tiwary got out after getting half centuries. It was a perfect platform for Dhoni to finish the innings off in the last 5 overs. But Watson got him caught at third man for 9 runs. RCB pulled it back a bit as RPS looked like getting over 200. Some late hitting from Rajat Bhatia and Ravichandran Ashwin took RPS to a score of 191. Shane Watson was the pick of the bowlers as he finished with 3 wickets for 24 runs off his 4 overs. Considering the condition of the Bangalore’s pitch, RCB would back themselves to chase it down.
Virat and Rahul start the chase steadily
Both the batsmen are in a great touch and once again they provide a swift start for the team. They took RCB to 46 runs without loss at the end of the powerplay with both classy batsmen hitting some delightful shots.
Virat brings up 5th half century in the tournament
Virat having a dream run continued to mount more runs as he reached his fifth fifty of the tournament to go with a hundred. He brought up his half century off just 30 balls as he looks to chase the big score for RCB.
RPS tighten the screws with 2 quick wickets
Adam Zampa playing his first game RCB got his first wicket as he removed KL Rahul for 38. He made the debut even better when he dismissed AB de Villiers in the same over for just 1 run much to the despise of the crowd. Watson joined Kohli as the equation got difficult.
RCB clinch a thriller with Virat’s magical ton
Virat absolutely loves chasing and he proved that yet again. He notched up his second century of this season as he brings the team home. A cameo from Watson got RCB back on track and Virat’s supreme innings ultimately proved to be the difference between the two teams, a special innings by a special player. He finished at a score of 108 not out as RCB win with 3 balls to spare. RCB keep their hopes alive to finish in the top four.

DD v/s KXIP, Mohali
DD lost their last game to RPS at home and now they move to Mohali to play against KXIP who are at the bottom of the table. The road to the playoffs is almost shut for KXIP whereas it would be a crucial game for DD to remain amongst the top four. KXIP with the newly appointed captain Murali Vijay need a revival from here. The team still has the potential to spoil the party for the other teams.

Vijay and Stoinis provide a solid start to KXIP’s innings
The skipper looked in touch as he was timing the ball well. Marcus Stoinis started steadily too. The duo put together a partnership of 45 runs before Morris accounted for Vijay’s wicket. Stoinis went to score his maiden fifty for KXIP. He was picked up by Zaheer after he scored 52 runs off 42 balls which included 3 fours and 2 sixes. The debutant Hashim Amla was dismissed early for just 1 run.
Saha reaches half cenury as KXIP look to set a big score
The wicket keeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha scored some quick runs and provided an all important boost to the innings. He scored 52 runs off 33 balls. Glenn Maxwell failed again as he was bowled by Morris for 16.
Late cameos from Miller and Axar lift KXIP to 181
Axar Patel continued to hit sixes in this match too and scored16 runs off just 5 balls which included 2 sixes. Miller also tried hard at the end and KXIP reached their highest score in the tournament of 181. Chris Morris was again the pick of the bowlers as he finished with 2 wickets for 30 runs.
Going by the form of DD, this is going to be an interesting chase.
DD make the most of the powerplay
Openers Quinton de Kock and Sanju Samson get off to a good start and build together a fifty partnership.Especially de Cock extended his good form to hit some pleasant boundaries. Samson supported him well. At then end of the powerplay DD take their score to 51 without loss.
The two Indian youngsters take the innings forward
Quinton de Kock was dismissed after he got to his half century. He scored 52 off 30 balls including 6 fours and 2 sixes. Sanju Samson continued his steady innings along with Karun Nair. The duo reached a fifty partnership and kept the game in the balance.
Brilliant death bowling wins it for KXIP
DD lost 3 quick wickets of Sanju Samson, Karun Nair and Sam Billings which brought the game in the favour of KXIP. Carlos Brathwaite threatened to take the game away when he hit a four and a six in an over, but then some emaculate bowling from Sandeep Sharma and Mohit Sharma sealed it for KXIP. They executed the yorkers perfectly and did not allow the batsmen to get under the ball. This win keeps the hopes of the KXIP alive to make it to the playoffs.
