The M Chinnaswamy Stadium turns red every April and May. The Royal Challengers Bangalore play here. The IPL franchise team is captained by none other than the batting maestro Virat Kohli. Along with AB de Villiers and Yuzvendra Chahal, this team has created an enormous fan base all over India. It was this side that enjoyed the rise of Chris Gayle in becoming a T20 legend.

The only thing missing in RCB’s camp is the glinting IPL trophy. In IPL’s 11 seasons, the Bangalore side has entered the final three times but has returned empty-handed on all occasions. The high-profile team headed by Kohli will want to add the silverware to their trophy cabinet at the earliest.

The formidable threesome of Kohli-ABD-Gayle has massacred bowling attacks for a few years. In these seasons, RCB has cruised to uncharted heights and have achieved excellent feats. They do have an embarrassing record on their name as well. Following are the five IPL records owned by Royal Challengers Bangalore.

#5. Most centuries as a team - 12

For a team that relies thoroughly on its batting lineup to win the matches, this record should not be a surprise. The holy trinity of Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle (now with KXIP) and AB de Villiers kept challenging the boundaries of M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore and managed to cross it successfully on most occasions.

Scoring a century in T20 cricket is truly a mind-boggling feat. The Royal Challengers Bangalore batsmen stand at the forefront with as many as 12 centuries in the IPL.

Seven of those have come at the Chinnaswamy ground. Five centuries from Chris Gayle, four from Virat Kohli (all four scored in 2016), two from AB de Villiers and one from Manish Pandey make up the tally of 12.

The team that comes close to RCB’s total of 12 centuries is Kings XI Punjab which has celebrated 10 IPL hundreds over the years. One of them belongs to Chris Gayle. The West Indian opener also recorded the highest individual score in the IPL while playing for RCB.
