IPL win will go along with my World Cup victories: Yuvraj
Bengaluru, May 30 (IANS) Seasoned batsman Yuvraj Singh, whose team Sunrisers Hyderabad clinched their maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) crown defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the final, said the win is right next to his victories in the 50-over World Cup and the World Twenty20.
"It is an amazing feeling to win an IPL trophy. I have won the World Cups but never won an IPL trophy. I have been playing this tournament for eight years now but never won it. That moment has finally come," Yuvraj was quoted as saying by iplt20.com on Sunday.
"I had never tasted the sweetness of an IPL trophy and this is something really amazing. At the moment this trophy will go right on top in my trophy cabinet. This one will go along with my World Cup victories," the southpaw added.
The David Warner-led Sunrisers Hyderabad beat hosts RCB by eight runs to clinch their maiden IPL trophy at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium here on Sunday night.
Earlier, soon after winning the match, Yuvraj took to social networking site Instagram to dedicate the win to fellow Sunrisers teammate Ashish Nehra.
"This one for you Nehra ji we miss you! Congratulations @sunrisershyd stuck together all the way through," he wrote.
Recently, Nehra had to undergo a knee surgery after he injured his leg while playing against Kings XI Punjab in a league phase match.
