Ishant Sharma becomes 12th Indian to reach 150 wickets in Tests

Ishant Sharma

Ishant Sharma became the 12th Indian to get 150 wickets in test matches, by picking up the wicket of the New Zealand opener, Hamish Rutherford on the first day of the 1st Test against New Zealand on 6th february.

Ishant reached the milestone in his 54th Test.

Hamish Rutherford was dismissed by Ishant in the very first over he bowled in the innings. Rutherford played away from the body and gets a thick outside edge, which flew through to the gully region and Ajinkya Rahane dived across to complete a brilliant catch.

Later, Ishant dismissed Ross Taylor for three in his fifth over.

Ishant currently has an average of 38.71 and a strike rate of 69.6, which shows the lack of consistent performances from him. Everyone is expecting him to improve, since he is one of the experienced bowlers in Indian team currently.

Ishant has shown that in pitches having some pace and bounce, he will be quite handy, which is the reason for his success outside the subcontinent, especially in the West Indies.
