J.P. Duminy out injured for six months

South Africa have been dealt a severe blow as all-rounder J.P Duminy has been ruled out of any cricket  for six monthswith a ruptured Achilles tendon.

The injury occurred in a freak training session accident as Duminy warmed-down while kicking a rugby ball with team mates.

The news will take the smile off the faces of the South Africans who had earlier dominated Day 1 of the 1st Test against Australia by reaching 255-2 at stumps.

The player was taken for tests in a nearby hospital soon after the incident, where scans revealed the seriousness of the injury. He will also be requiring an operation, and is expected to be sidelined for up to six months.
