Jason Holder to replace injured Rampaul in West Indies squad

Jason Holder

Ravi Rampaul, who sprained his ankle during the tri-nation tournament opener has been ruled out of the remainder of the series. Jason Holder has been called up to replace the injured Rampaul for the Port of Spain leg of the series.

The 6ft 7 inch tall Holder was also a part of West Indies squad in the Champions Trophy in England last month but did not get a game. In the interim, the 21-year-old fast bowler oozed oodles of promise during his IPL stint with Chennai Super Kings.

Meanwhile, Captain Dwayne Bravo’s injury is not as serious as Rampaul and he is likely to skipper the side in the second half of the tournament. The hosts lead the table in the CELKON Mobile Cup tournament with 9 points in 2 games. West Indies claimed a bonus point achieving 6 wicket win against Sri Lanka and scrambled home against India on Sunday.

The subcontinental neighbors, India and Sri Lanka, who face off today are yet to open their account.
