Video: Watch Kane Williamson open his mind up about his batting

Kane Williamson is one of the most gifted batsmen in world cricket right now

New Zealand batsman Kane Williamson opens his mind and talks about various things in an interview to the Sky Sport NZ. Williamson, who is regarded as the best batsman in the current generation had a great year in which he scored 2633 runs in 45 innings at an average of 66 across all the three formats.

Williamson, who hardly has a flaw in his game has said that there is no secret to his batting and joked that he wants to know the secret to batting if there is any. He has been New Zealand’s mainstay in the batting order ever since making his debut against India in 2010. He also stressed the importance on continuing his good work throughout his career.

After guiding his side to a five-wicket victory in the second Test against Sri Lanka, Williamson had more good news coming his way after he was appointed the captain for the 2016 World T20 in India after Brendon McCullum announced his retirement from International cricket after the test series against Australia in February.

Williamson is no stranger to the captaincy role as he had led the Kiwis in the past and being the full-time captain will take a heavy toll on his batting performance. However, New Zealand greats believe that Williamson has the temperament and can handle pressure well as the captain without affecting his batting.

Since making his debut, Williamson has amassed 3895 Test runs in 85 innings at an average of just under 50 and has piled up 3362 ODI runs in 79 innings at an average of 48. The numbers speak for themselves and Williamson, who is at a striking distance from becoming the best batsman from New Zealand can end up on the same league as Brian Lara, Ricky Ponting, Rahul Dravid if he bats the way he does.

Here is the video interview, which he gave to Sky Sport New Zealand (Video courtesy of Sky Sport NZ official Facebook page):
