Karnataka thrash Andhra Pradesh in Vijay Hazare Trophy

Secunderabad, Nov 7 (IANS) Mayank Agarwal (162) scored a superb century to help Karnataka to a 163-run victory over Andhra Pradesh in a South Zone match of the Vijay Hazare National ODI Championships here today.

Andhra Pradesh won the toss and bowled first but were pushed back by Karnataka who posted a big score of 330 runs, riding on Agarwal's 137-ball 162 and Manish Pandey's 63-ball 75.

In reply, Andhra were bowled out for 196 in 47.4 overs with Kaif's 54 and Siva Kumar's 40 being the only highlights of a poor batting performance.

In another match, Tamil Nadu defeated Hyderabad by 47 runs riding on a brilliant century from Abhinav Mukund (139).

Tamil Nadu posted 334 for six after being sent in to bat. Mukund was helped by R. Sathish (79 not out) and Baba Aparajith (66) to post an imposing score.

In reply, Hyderabad managed only 287 runs in 47.2 overs, despite Tirumalasetti Suman scoring an impressive 119-ball 136.

Praneeth Kumar hit 68 off 51 balls, but it wasn't of much help for his team.

Laxmipathy Balaji was the highest wicket-taker for Tamil Nadu, taking three wickets for 55.
