New Zealand Women’s cricketer Katie Perkins got dismissed in a bizarre manner during the match between New Zealand’s Women’s cricket team and Australia’s Governor General’s XI which took place on Thursday. Katie got out caught and bowled, after she hit the ball to the non-striker batswoman’s bat and the ball deflected towards the bowler who executed the catch. Since the ball did not pitch on the ground, Perkins was adjudged out.

Katie Perkins from New Zealand was batting at the score of 4 runs from 6 balls with Katey Martin on the non-striker’s end. As the bowler, Heather Graham, from the Australian side was bowling over the wicket, Martin was standing on the right-hand side of the pitch’s other end. As soon as Perkins hammered Heather’s ball with a straight drive, the ball hit the non-striker’s bat. The bat-speed for the shot was high and so, the ball deflected from Martin’s bat and went straight into the hands of the bowler. Heather completed an easy catch as she dismissed Perkins at the score of 4(7).
