Kevin Pietersen and James Faulkner engage in Twitter banter after Stars' defeat

Stars lost to Strikers in their opening game of BBL 2015

Melbourne Stars are arguably the biggest side in the KFC Big Bash League, in terms of star players, yet they still haven’t reached a single final in the tournament and have become the perennial bridesmaids, thanks to their propensity to do well, but fall before reaching the final.

This year, Stars have another star-studded line-up, with the likes of Luke Wright, Kevin Pietersen, Glenn Maxwell, David Hussey and James Faulkner. But, after losing their opening game of BBL 2015 against Adelaide Strikers, they know that it won't be easy to get into the knockout stage of the tournament.

Two players, who didn’t deliver in their loss to Strikers, Pietersen and Faulkner, took to Twitter, to discuss the reason for their loss as they travelled back to Melbourne, where they will face Sydney Thunder, who beat Sixers in their opening game.

The English batsman scored 22 off 17 balls, while the Australian all-rounder remained unbeaten on 10 from 10 balls, as the Stars lost by 19 runs at the Adelaide Oval on Friday.
