Kevin Pietersen engages in Twitter banter with Piers Morgan about his England credentials
A 36-year-old cricketer whose last international game was in January 2014 isn’t your usual candidate for headlines. But then again, not all of them are Kevin Pietersen, who continues to make headlines even when he is not playing cricket.
The latest in a long line of things that has helped him garner more eyeballs is his twitter banter with his staunch supporter and Arsenal-supporting journalist, Piers Morgan. KP isn’t new to making headlines for his comments on Twitter but even couldn’t have foreseen what followed a tweet about Arsene Wenger.

Kevin Pietersen may no longer be playing for England but he has certainly been keeping himself busy. When he isn’t playing in the Big Bash League, the Pakistan Super League or the Indian Premier League, he is in Australia, playing golf and doing commentary for the ongoing Test series between Australia and South Africa.
It all started with a rather innocous tweet (by Piers Morgan’s standards) on former England international and pundit Gary Lineker’s views on Arsene Wenger.
if Arsenal fans agree with @GaryLineker that Wenger's still a winner, I respect that.

He's not, as we'll discover yet again in May.
And that immediately evoked plenty of reaction from the Twitterati, including this fan:
@piersmorgan @GaryLineker At least he has a job unlike you!
— AWenger (@mihirchheda13) November 21, 2016
It didn't take Piers Morgan too long to respond to that.
I currently have 5 jobs:@GMB #LifeStories #KillerWomen @DailyMail @EventMagUK https://t.co/6oQjnS5DKQ
— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) November 21, 2016
And that was when Kevin Pietersen joined in on the banter:
You actually have 7 jobs...
— KP (@KP24) November 21, 2016
6. Be Trump's PR agent
7. My PR agent https://t.co/AdUtcRRW98
But KP must have been heartbroken (read: incredibly glad), when he saw what his staunch supporter had to say next.
I fired myself after your tweet earlier. https://t.co/dUaqTlsTkY
— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) November 21, 2016
And it didn't end there.
@piersmorgan I do the hiring and firing, fat boy! You just keep doing what you do thanks!
— KP (@KP24) November 21, 2016
Then came what everyone could see coming from a mile away, especially after England’s 246-run loss to India in the second Test at Vizag.
You can't even get in THIS England batting line-up.
— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) November 21, 2016
Dwell on that, FIGJAM. https://t.co/cqvvidFoCm
But Kevin Pietersen wasn’t one to go down without a fight.
Just trying to figure out which lineup I'm going to choose. SA, AUS or no pads, left handed & using my bat handle(ENG)! https://t.co/7h0owwR4iz

Fair to say that whether it is commentating on games, playing on the pitch or on Twitter, Kevin Pietersen continues to entertain cricket fans.
