Kevin Pietersen hits back at former England coach Graham Gooch

Kevin Pietersen hits back at former England coach Graham Gooch for commenting on his comeback struggle. The on and off field quarrel doesn’t seem to be halting between the former England batting coach Graham Gooch and Kevin Pietersen.

The 34-year-old batsman tweeted by making reference to the England tour to apartheid-era South Africa in 1982 where Gooch and other players were banned from international cricket for three years. Pietersen said, "Graham Gooch - you captained a rebel tour of SA, got banned & then returned to the England team. I don't think I've done anything as bad!"

Pietersen’s outburst on Twitter came after Graham Gooch’s comments in an interview to BBC radio show; the former batting coach said that the 34-year-old player has done well to put pressure on England cricket by winning the media battle through Public Relation (PR). England Cricket Board Chairman Colin Graves has hinted that his return is possible.

"Ever since he was disposed of by England, I think him and his media team have wiped the floor with the ECB. He has won the media PR battle, his name is up in lights and he is looked at as the saviour of English cricket.

“I think there is a slim chance but Kevin has played it really well, he realised that there is a window of opportunity open and incoming chairman has mentioned that very well in media and that is very well reported,” he said.

Gooch added later by saying that the best thing England can do is to win well in the Windies and all these comments might go away.

England’s leading run scorer Kevin Pietersen will be playing for Surrey cricket team in the upcoming county championship. He will be keenly watched by selectors and the right-hand batsman knows how important this season is going to be for him.
