Kevin Pietersen indicates ODI retirement after 2015 World Cup
English batsman Kevin Pietersen has said that he wants to retire from One-day internationals after the 2015 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
In a Q&A session with Cricinfo on the occasion of his 100th Test, the 33-year-old said: “I want to play one-day cricket through to the World Cup in 2015, and then, if the knees, eyes and hands still let me, continue with Test cricket.”
Pietersen also added that his favourite innings was the 158 he hit against Australia in the 5th Ashes Test at The Oval in 2005, a knock that ensured England’s first Ashes victory in over 18 years.
The South African-born batsman has scored 4440 runs at an average of 40.73 in 136 ODIs since making his debut against Zimbabwe in 2004.
