Kevin Pietersen and Shaun Pollock discuss plans for coffee
Such is the beauty of Twitter that it doesn’t take too much to make an entertaining conversation between two former or current athletes. Social media has reduced distances, broken down barriers that previously existed and created a platform for engaging conversation.
While those conversations aren't always insightful, they almost always are entertaining. And there are few better things to look back on than conversation between two cricketers, who have proven themselves to be quite adept at making good conversation.
Topping that list is certainly Kevin Pietersen. He might not be playing for England but he has been tearing apart the form book across various T20 competitions around the world. Most recently, it was the Big Bash League and before that it was in the Ram Slam T20 Challenge.
When he is not making news on the pitch, with the bat in his hand, he makes plenty off it, with his exchanges with cricketers and even fans on Twitter. His banter with his Melbourne stars teammate James Faulkner are testament to that.
So when Shaun Pollock posted an innocuous tweet, it didn’t long for the Englishman to turn it into an entertaining conversation.
Here is the tweet which sparked the conversation:
A serious boat/yacht arrived in Cape Town Harbour overnight!! Vava ii 97m long, helicopter on board, impressive ! pic.twitter.com/vgnDUCrNik

When the South African all-rounder was informed that the yacht belongs to former Miss UK, Kirsty Bertarelli, whose husband is supposedly worth $8.3 Billion, this is what Pollock had to say:
.@mikehollick damn, there goes my retirement plan!!

It also didn't take long for former Ashes-winning England fast bowler and current Gemini Arabians player Graham Onions, to tweet this, with his tongue firmly in his cheek:
@7polly7 not yours?

Before long, Kevin Pietersen joined in and here is the entire conversation:
Come for a coffee, Polly? I'm only here till tomorrow then we sailing to Mauritius. Shall I send to get you? https://t.co/fOFAA3uPF9

.@KP24 if you had only given me some warning...
— Shaun Pollock (@7polly7) January 31, 2016
@7polly7 haha! Hope all's good boss!
