Kevin Pietersen with an epic burn on James Faulkner

Pietersen and Faulkner are having a ball on Twitter

Kevin Pietersen is a busy man.

He might not be playing for England anymore, but that hasn’t stopped the 35-year-old batsman from going around the world and showing just why he is still good enough to represent his country, at least in the shortest format of the game.

Despite only playing seven matches in the 2015 Ram Slam T20 Challenge, Pietersen finished as the tournament’s second-highest run scorer and a scarcely believable average of over 80 and a strike rate of over 170.

Although he hasn't yet managed to replicate the same in the ongoing Big Bash League, he has still scored a fifty and is the Stars’ second-leading run-scorer in the tournament despite only playing three matches.

He returned back to England for the birth of his child and only just returned to action, for the Melbourne derby against Renegades, which was comfortably won by the Stars.

Despite not being as explosive as he was before, he has still managed to capture the attention of the audience in the tournament.

Whether it was by telling the commentary team where he was going to hit the ball and then proceeding to hit it there, or his Nostradamus-esque prediction of Chris Gayle’s dismissal in the derby on Sunday, KP has still managed to ramp up the entertainment factor.

Arguably the best bit about his stay with the Stars has been his friendship with James Faulkner, with whom he has enjoyed a Twitter banter, or two in the last few weeks.

There was another one, add to the collection earlier today.

Here is the Tweet from Pietersen, containing his conversation with the Australian all-rounder:

Faulkner was in good spirits, had this to say in response.
