Glenn Maxwell
Chennai Super Kings became the first team to play 100 matches in IPL.
Suresh Raina played his 100th match for Chennai Super Kings – the most by any player in IPL.
It was the 36th and 37th time a side has scored 200 or more in the history of IPL.
CSK have the most 200+ scores in the history of IPL, with 10, whilst Kings XI Punjab are second with seven.
CSK’s score of 205/4 was their seventh biggest total in IPL and the second time they have scored over 200 against Kings XI.
It was the seventh time Kings XI have conceded 200 or more and the sixth time they have been set a target of over 200.
It was only the second time CSK have lost having scored over 200 and the second time Kings XI have won chasing over 200.
It was also the highest total chased against CSK, beating the previous mark of 193 – which was also chased down by Kings XI.
It was the 13th time in IPL that 400 runs were scored in a single game.
CSK and Kings XI combined for a total of 411 runs- the eighth highest match aggregate total in IPL.
CSK have been involved in 6 of the 13 games in which more than 400 runs were scored, and this was only their second loss in those games.
Brendon McCullum went past 5000 runs in T20s, becoming only the fourth player to do so, after Chris Gayle, David Hussey and Brad Hodge.
CSK’s score of 70/0 in the first six overs was their highest score in the power play in IPL.
The opening stand of 123 by Brendon McCullum and Dwayne Smith was the fifth time they have had a partnership of 100 runs or more against Kings XI Punjab – the most they have managed against any team.
The partnership was also the fifth time in IPL and sixth time overall that they have had a century opening partnership.
It was the first-time both openers scored a fifty on debut for CSK: McCullum scored 67 whilst Smith got 66.
Dwayne Smith’s 98m six off Glenn Maxwell was the longest six of this year’s IPL so far.
Glenn Maxwell’s 95 is his highest score in T20s.
Five of CSK’s six bowlers used had an economy rate of over 10, the first time it has happened.
Nine of the 12 bowlers who bowled went for over 10 runs an over – another IPL record.
Maxwell’s innings included 15 fours – the third-highest in an innings by any batsman in IPL.
