Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are one of the most established franchise teams in the Indian Premier League (IPL), winning the title three times, as of May 2025. They first lifted the IPL title in 2012 before emerging victorious for the second time in 2014. After a 10-year-long drought, the team got their hands on the IPL silverware for the third time in 2024. The Shreyas Iyer-led unit defeated the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the IPL 2024 final.

KKR began their IPL 2025 campaign by hosting the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in front of a packed Eden Gardens on March 22. They lost the first game as they failed to defend the target of 175 against RCB. As of May 14, 2025, KKR have played 12 matches in the IPL 2025 and won only five. Before the IPL 2025 was suspended, KKR were set to take on RCB and SRH in their last two league stage matches. But, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the revised schedule of the remainder of the IPL 2025 matches.
