KL Rahul ruled out of the Bangladesh tour
Indian Test opener KL Rahul has been ruled out of the Bangladesh tour. The BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur confirmed the news regarding his unavailability since the Karnataka batsman is yet to recover from his illness. The Indian team arrived in Kolkata for a fitness test and the medical staff immediately decided to ruled him out after examining him.
He was handed out a Test debut against Australia in India’s previous Test assignment and he went on to score his maiden Test hundred in the final Test after opening the innings alongside Murali Vijay. Rahul continued his good form after returning from Australia by scoring 838 runs from five Ranji Trophy matches at an average of 93.11.
He was expected to open the batting again ahead of Shikhar Dhawan in this one-off Test against Bangladesh which starts on the 10th of June. Since the team is playing just a solitary Test, the selectors decided not to have a reserve opener and instead have Dhawan partnering Vijay again.
