Knee injury rules Manoj Tiwary out of cricket for four months

Manoj Tiwary

Manoj Tiwary, who has been in and out of the Indian side in the recent past, has suffered yet another blow to his future prospects of playing for the national side following a knee injury, which he picked during a football drill for the Kalighat cricket club in Kolkata. The talented right-hander has been ruled out of any kind of cricket for a minimum of four months now. This has also put him out of the reckoning for the Zimbabwe tour starting on July 24.

The West Bengal batsman will travel to England on the 29th of this month to meet Dr Andrew Williams for consultation and immediate surgery. Dr Williams is a British orthopaedic surgeon and a knee specialist, who has also worked with Cheteshwar Pujara and other well known cricketers in the past.

Tiwary has had a history with the injuries, which is the primary reason why he is not a regular in the Indian side.
