Kohli dominates yet again, India beat Zimbabwe by 7 wickets

India put in yet another dominating performance, comfortably beating Zimbabwe by 7 wickets.

Put in to bat by Indian captain Virat Kohli, Zimbabwe got off to the worst start possible, losing two quick wickets in the first two overs.

Things didn’t get better for the African nation, as they kept losing regular wickets, especially to spinner Amit Mishra, who was the pick of the bowlers ending up with figures of 4/47.

However, a few Zimbabwean batsmen did hold their own; Sean Williams top scored with 45, while Tendai Chetara scored 23 runs at the fag end of the innings, which enabled Zimbabwe to reach a respectable score of 183.

India didn’t get off to the best of starts, losing Rohit Sharma (14) at a score of 27. Shikhar Dhawan scored some quick runs before he too was dismissed for 35. Ambati Rayudu played an important knock of 33 to stabilise the Indian innings.

Captain Virat Kohli stamped his class on the proceedings yet again, playing a responsible unbeaten knock of 68, while Suresh Raina accelerated the scoring rate at the end of innings, scoring 28 off 18 balls, to ensure India coasted home, ending the innings at 187/3.

With this victory, India have taken an insurmountable 3-0 lead in the five-match series.
