KPL 2015, Match 9: Mysuru Warriors will look for redemption against Bellary Tuskers

Bellary players limber around before the start of their practice session

Hubballi, September 6, 2015: Mysuru Warriors will look for redemption when they clash with Bellary Tuskers in the first match on Monday in the Karbonn Smart KPL 2015 here at the Rajnagar Stadium.

The defending champs have been found wanting, losing both the games they have featured in this season. It became apparent that the team leans on skipper Manish Pandey and opening batsman Arjun Hoysala a little too much.

The way the batting crumbled after the fall of Hoysala, who had set up the chase against Mangalore United, will have sent alarm bells ringing and the team think tank will need to pep up the team if they are to make an impact in this edition of the KPL.

“We need to concentrate on executing our plans. Poor execution has been our problem in the last two games and hopefully we have learnt our lessons. I will not say a must win situation because every match is a must-win situation and we are looking to win on the field” said Mysuru Warriors team coach Murali.

It was not only their batting that looked brittle, but their bowling too was taken apart with some class batting at the top of the order followed by a blistering attack towards the end.

Bellary has had two days to ponder over their botched up chase against Bijapur Bulls. Hopefully, the team will have recouped and will rise up to the challenge on Monday.

Of course the team will be playing back-to-back, having finished their engagement against Namma Shivamogga on Sunday night. But that would be no excuse for cricketers who look to make a mark for themselves on bigger stages.
