KPL player auction to be held on the 25th of July

Manish Pandey will be playing for the Mysuru Warriors

With the fourth edition of the Karnataka Premier League about to begin in a few days time, the franchisees are gearing up to build a strong squad to mount a challenge. The seven teams will be battling to sign the best cricketers from Karnataka in the player auction which will be taking place at the KSCA in Bangalore on the 25th of July.

Charu Sharma will be hosting the auction where a total of 239 players will be available for the auction block. Pool A will consist of 35 players and Pool B will have 204 players in it. The new team ‘Namma Shimoga’ will be going into the auction with their full purse of Rs.20 lakhs for this season whereas the other six teams won’t be having that luxury since they have all retained a couple of players each from the previous edition.

Defending Champions Mysuru Warriors have retained Manish Pandey and J Suchith. Runners-up Belagavi Panthers will once again have the services of Ranji skipper Vinay Kumar and Abhishek Reddy while Mangalore United retained Karun Nair and Ronit More. KL Rahul and Aravind Sreenath will once again represent Hubli, while the Bellary Tuskers retained D Nischal and Devraj Patil. KC Cariappa who fetched a whopping 2.4 crores in the IPL player auction earlier this year will be playing for the Bijapur Bulls.
