Sri Lankan legend Sanath Jayasuriya gets emotional while paying his respects at Army School, Peshawar

The former Sri Lankan batting mainstay Sanath Jayasuriya was visibly moved after visiting the Army Public School in Peshawar, Pakistan on Friday, last week. The  southpaw was in Pakistan for his stint as the cricket analyst for PTV during the recent Pakistan vs Sri Lanka cricket series. The school was the victim to a vicious attack by heavily armed militants. This attack, which was condemned all over the world, left close to 150 kids dead in its wake.

It was truly  gallant of Jayasuriya to pay his regards at the memorial. He also met few of the school kids there. On his facebook page, Sanath wrote:

“Visit to Army Public school in Peshawar! To pay my respects to the more than 100 children who were innocent victims of the deadliest terrorist attack in Pakistan. May their beautiful souls rest in peace! Emotional day for me,”
