'Legends don't need to prove their worth to anyone,' Bumrah hails Dhoni on Twitter

<p>

What's the story?

India, on Tuesday, registered a comprehensive six-wicket win against Australia to level the three-match series at Adelaide. Chasing a big total of 299 runs, captain Virat Kohli led from the front, scoring a scintillating century. However, it was vintage MS Dhoni who finished the game in his own style.

The experienced campaigner made close to a run-a-ball half-century to ensure visitors crossed the line with ease. Later, Twitterati came out praising India especially MS for his match-winning innings. Bowling spearhead, Jasprit Bumrah also hailed Dhoni for his effort, saying 'Legends don't need to prove their worth to anyone.'

In case you didn't know

After going down by 1-0 in the series at Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), the Men-in-Blue responded strongly at the Adelaide Oval, posting a six-wicket win. In the first match, MS Dhoni was highly criticised for his 'slow' knock of 53 runs in 96 balls. Many people blamed him for the defeat as India fell short 36 runs, despite Rohit Sharma's heroic hundred.

The heart of the matter

The 37-year-old once again proved that age is just a number. He came to bat at number five and started in his own way by taking some time at the crease. The Ranchi-born then changed his gears and helped Kohli's men post a successful chase.

Apart from many others, Bumrah, who was rested for the series, praised Dhoni by posting a beautiful message on his official Twitter account. The pacer while referring to Dhoni's knock wrote, "Legends don't need to prove their worth to anyone. Great display of class and temperament by Mahi bhai @msdhoni and @imVkohli 👏👏👏 Congratulations on the win! #AUSvIND"

What's next?

Kohli and Co will go to Melbourne with high hopes. They would try and repeat what they did in the Test series and create history one more time.
