Royal Challengers Bangalore : Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli(C), AB de Villiers, Shane Watson, Sarfaraz Khan, Kedar Jadhav(wk), David Wiese, Parvez Rasool, Harshal Patel, Sreenath Aravind, Yuzvendra Chahal
Delhi Daredevils: Quinton de Kock(wk), Shreyas Iyer, Sanju Samson, Karun Nair, Jean-Paul Duminy, Pawan Negi, Carlos Brathwaite, Chris Morris, Zaheer Khan(C), Mohammed Shami, Amit Mishra
1930 Hrs IST: TOSS!! Daredevils wins the toss and opts to field first!
It will be interesting to see what the teams do after winning the toss. I reckon, Daredevils might opt to field first and RCB might opt to bat!
Welcome to the live blog of the RCB vs DD game! The garden city, Bangalore, will play hosts to what promises to be a great Sunday game!
KEY PLAYERS TO WATCH OUT FOR:
RCB: Chris Gayle is always one hit away from a dominant performance and he will hope that it is his day tomorrow. Yuzvendra Chahal in many ways is the unsung hero for the RCB, and he has always managed to keep the batting quiet and has also picked up crucial wickets, and he will once again be the key in the middle overs.
DD: JP Duminy got a game, and he immediately had an impact with his fielding and his presence. Daredevils will hope that he translates all of this when he gets a chance to bat. Shreyas Iyer has had a bumper Ranji Season and much was expected of him in this tournament. However, he has not quite got going and would love to finally kickstart his tournament. How will Delhi Daredevils' spinners react to the surface and the short inviting boundaries will be another interesting development.
The Indian Premier League has now taken off after a rather tepid first week and now the matches are more keenly contested. It is time to one again lap up the beautiful Bangalore atmosphere as Royal Challengers Bangalore take on the Delhi Daredevils. On paper Royal Challengers Bangalore have a line up that is the envy of all other sides. They have Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and then Shane Watson. They have started off in a dominant fashion too after having plundered Sunrisers Hyderabad's bowling. Chris Gayle did not get going but he was not needed as two of the best batsmen in the current age, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers but up a display of audacious strokeplay and delighted the local crowd. Shane Watson then chipped in with both bat and ball and left a massive influence in the game.
RCB have always had the star factor in their batting, but their bowling did fall short, but the Indian contingent of young bowlers stepped up and along with Shane Watson have moulded a formidable bowling attack. JP Duminy is back in the Daredevils team, Quinton de Kock has found form and if one of their batting talents from the young Indian contingent steps up they look a far more settled side. Expect Rahul Dravid and Paddy Upton to drill this into the batsman. If any bowling can stop the belligerent batting, it will be Delhi Daredevils as they showcased in their last match against Kings XI Punjab, when Amit Mishra spun a web and Zaheer Khan was frugal and incisive first up.
