Local farmers in Lahli make huge profits from Sachin Tendulkar's last Ranji Trophy match

Sachin Tendulkar’s last outing for Mumbai has proved to be profitable affair for local farmers

The presence of Sachin Tendulkar has resulted in a great money-making opportunity for local farmers in Lahli, the venue for the Ranji Trophy match between Mumbai and Haryana.

The Haryana Cricket Association had distributed complimentary passes to the sarpanch of local villages, who had passed them on to the farmers. Now those complimentary passes are being sold to fans who’ve travelled to the town to catch a last glimpse of Sachin Tendulkar playing cricket.

Times of India reports that some passes have been sold between Rs. 5,000-10,000.

“This is the last time we will get to watch Sachin play in our region. We don’t mind paying such a price,” a fan from Delhi who had paid a hefty sum for the ticket was quoted by the daily.

Sachin disappointed the crowd at the stadium yesterday when he was bowled by young Mohit Sharma after making just 5. But with the match in its 3rd innings on the 2nd day, fans are sure to get one more chance to witness the Master Blaster on the crease soon.
