Sri Lankan players celebrate the fall of Netherlands skipper Peter Borren

The lowest score in a t20 international is 39 made by the Dutch. Here is a list of the top five lowest ever innings scores in T20 internationals.

Total Overs For Against Date Result
39 10.3 Netherlands Sri Lanka March 24, 2014 Sri Lanka won by 9 wickets
56 18.3 Kenya Afghanistan September 30, 2013 Afghanistan won by 106 runs
60 15.3 New Zealand Sri Lanka March 31, 2014 Sri Lanka won by 59 runs
67 17.2 Kenya Ireland August 4, 2008 Ireland won by 4 wickets
68 16.4 Ireland West Indies April 30, 2010 West Indies won by 70 runs

1. 39 all out (Netherlands vs Sri Lanka)

The innings was just 10.3 overs long and that would have hurt the Dutch more than the total. Angelo Matthews and Ajantha Mendis picked three wickets each and 5 batsmen registered zeroes against their names. Sri Lanka chased it down in just 5 overs, thus making sure that the match lasted only 15 overs.

2. 56 all out (Kenya vs Afghanistan)

Vital contributions from Shahzad and Stanikzai aided by a cameo in the end by Shenwari helped Afghanistan post a healthy 162 runs. But Kenya lost their first 4 wickets for just 7 runs on the board. They never recovered from that disastrous start and got bundled out for just 56.

3. 60 all out (New Zealand vs Sri Lanka)

This was a virtual quarter final between these two teams in the 2014 ICC World T20 and New Zealand pretty much surprised the Lankans by bundling them out for just 119. Many considered the run chase to be just a formality, but Herath had other ideas. He spun a web around the kiwis and they were all out for 60 in no time. Williamson made 42 of those.

4. 67 all out (Kenya vs Ireland)

It was the first semi final of the World T20 qualifier. And it turned out to be one of those very low scoring humdingers. Batting first Kenya were all out for just 67 with only two batsmen touching double figures. Ireland took the chase to the last over, finally crossing the finishing line with four wickets to spare.

5. 68 all out (Ireland vs West Indies)

The West Indies made an emphatic start to their home world cup by thrashing Ireland. Not many were impressed when they managed just 138 runs for the loss of 9 wickets batting first. But it was the day for the bowlers as Rampaul and Sammy picked 3 wickets each to dismiss the Irish for just 68 runs.
