Lyca Kovai Kings bolstered by Murali Vijay’s presence as they face Ruby Kanchi Warriors
Chennai: The fans of Chennai will keenly look forward to the second match in the city between Lyca Kovai Kings and the Ruby Kovai Kings in the India Cements TN Premier League on Friday. The two teams would want to emulate the Albert TUTI Patriots, who beat the Chepauk Super Gillies in the opening match.
Lyca Kovai Kings have been bolstered by the presence of Murali Vijay, who is available for the game. Their captain J Syed Mohammed is an experienced campaigner who has played in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Coach Lance Klusener, with the help of the local coaches, is also sure to add value to the team dynamic.
Having four players (Anchit D, Mohammed M, Rohith R and Vijay Shankar) from Vijay CC (TNCA I Division) should be an advantage for the side. Vijay Shankar isn’t fully fit yet and will take time to get 100 percent. The spinners will play a huge role in the fortunes of the side, led by skipper Mohammed.
Ruby Kanchi Warriors have young Baba Indrajith leading them. His contribution with both bat and ball will be crucial for the side which is coached by former Tamil Nadu player S Suresh and mentored by Brett Lee. Watch out for young all-rounders Shahrukh Khan M and Kosuik J. The Kanchi team will look to create the ‘Adrasakka’ fever in their first outing.
Key contest: The tussle between Tamil Nadu Ranji Trophy teammates Indrajith and Mohammed should be interesting to watch. While Indrajith can shine with both bat and ball, Mohammed’s spell will be crucial for his team. With both players knowing each other’s game, it should be a wonderful challenge.
