Royal Challengers Bangalore sign Mandeep Singh from Kings XI Punjab
Top order batsman Mandeep Singh has completed a move from Kings XI Punjab to Royal Challengers Bangalore and will become the Bengaluru-based franchise’s third new addition, following the arrival of Iqbal Abdulla and Manvinder Bisla from Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders respectively, ahead of the eighth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The 23-year-old, who made his IPL debut in the 2010 edition, has played a total of 44 matches and has amassed 767 runs at a strike-rate of 119.28 with a best score of 77 not out. However, he didn't have the best of times with the bat last year, scoring just 21 runs in 3 matches at an average of 8.
The right-hander had a spectacular 2012 season, where he scored 432 runs in 16 games and was given the Emerging Player of the Year award for his performances, but couldn’t carry on the good form in 2013 before eventually losing his spot in the team to Manan Vohra in 2014.
The second trading window of the 2014-15 season lasts till February 6. There will be a third trading window that will open after the IPL auction on February 16 at Bangalore.
