Manish Pandey praises KPL ahead of its 4th season

Manish Pandey came into the limelight after scoring a 100 in the second edition of the IPL

Karnataka batsman Manish Pandey has praised the Karnataka Premier League for providing youngsters with opportunities to showcase their talents. The 25-year-old who recently made his debut for India during the Zimbabwe tour will be playing in the tournament which will enter its fourth edition.

His state teammate Shishir Bhavane has been making rapid strides in the domestic scene and he would view this tournament as an opportunity to grab more limelight. In a short Q & A session, the duo spoke about the tournament and their inspiration etc.

1.  What do you feel about KPL as a tournament?

KPL provides a great platform for youngsters and players from districts in Karnataka to showcase their talent and prove themselves.  

2. How important is fitness in cricket?

It is very important as if you are not fit it gets difficult to perform to the fullest. The fitter you are the longer you play.  

3. What inspired you to take up the game?

My Father

4. What is your personal style?

Whatever I am comfortable in is style for me.

5.  What is your mantra to handle stress?

I try and tell myself that it is just a phase which will change in time. I take my mind off by watching movies, meeting friends and trying not to over think the situation. 

 

Shishir Bhavane

1.  What do you expect to achieve in KPL IV?

Personally, I would like to be the highest run getter and win the trophy for my team.

2.  Who is your favourite player and who do you look up to?

Yuvraj Singh

3.  What inspired you to take up the game?

Watching my dad play when I was young.

4.  With hectic schedules how do you find time for family and friends and how do you prioritize your time?

I try to make time for my family and try and go home to Hubli at least once a month.

5.  Do you have any superstitions before a game?

I always put on my right leg pad first.
