Martin Guptill becomes the highest scorer in a three-ODI series

 

Martin Guptill had a phenomenal ODI series against England, where the final edition of the ICC Champions Trophy is to be hosted. In the first ODI, he scored an unbeaten century to help his team prevail over the host country. He followed it up with scoring a record-breaking 189* to help New Zealand clinch the three-match ODI series against England, becoming the first team since Australia (6-1) in 2009 to win an ODI series against England in England.

Guptill finished the series with 330 runs in 3 matches at an average of 330.00. He overcame Brendon Taylor’s 310 runs in 3 matches vs NZ in 2011 as the highest run-scorer in a three match ODI series.
