Mashrafe Morataza injured in road accident

Mashrafe Mortaza is not included in the Test squad for India series

Bangladesh's One-Day International (ODI) skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza suffered minor injuries this morning after a bus rammed into a rickshaw in which he was travelling here on Thursday.

The medium-fast bowler was on his way to practice at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla Stadium when the accident occurred. He injured both his arms when he fell from the rickshaw.

Mashrafe later said that his injuries were not serious, he was taking his child for the regular vaccination dosage.

"There are no fractures. Hope there is no danger now," he said.

A Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) official said though they were not expecting to find anything serious, Mashrafe would be taken to hospital for proper check-up.

Mashrafe is not included in the squad for the one-match Test series against India commencing from June 10 at Fatullah's Khan Shaheb Osman Ali stadium.

The three-match ODI series will start at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium on June 18. The remaining two day-night matches will be played at the same venue on June 21 and 24.
