Match against Mumbai Indians will be tough: RCB's Wiese

Wiese picked four wickets against MI the last time

Mumbai, May 9 (IANS) Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) all-rounder David Wiese on Saturday said they face a tough opponent in the in-form Mumbai Indians (MI) in their next Indian Premier League (IPL) match here on Sunday.

"It's a big game for us. Mumbai are playing well at the moment. They beat Chennai yesterday (Friday). They are a team in good form. It's going to be a tough game and a good game," Wiese said at the pre-match press conference here.

"In terms of our campaign we also have a couple of wins under the belt and need some more to make it to the play-off stages. Every single game will be important for us."

The 29-year-old South African took 10 wickets and scored 106 runs from 8 matches.

When asked if RCB is too dependent on the top three in batting, he said, "I wouldn't say that it's only dependent. But we played a game against Rajasthan Royals where all top big three failed and still ended up getting 200.

"Dinesh Karthik got a couple, Mandeep Singh got a couple and then Sarfaraz Khan came in at the end and smashed a few.

"But it's always nice to have those big three in there to score most of the runs. But I think the middle order has also stepped in when required.

"I am confident if the top order doesn't come good the middle order would play some good knocks," Wiese said.
